Windows7 Installation Guide for PPTP VPN Setup
Setting up PureVPN under Windows 7 is simple. The following instructions will guide you through a manual connection of the PureVPN service on Windows 7 machines.
Windows 7 Tutorials
STEP 1:
Click "Start" and go to "Control Panel".
STEP 2:
Click "View network status and tasks" under Network and Internet.
STEP 3:
Click "Set up a new connection or network".
STEP 4:
Select "Connect to a workplace" and then hit "Next".
STEP 5:
Click "Use my Internet Connection (VPN)".
STEP 6:
Enter "Internet address" of your choice from the many provided in configuration email (the same email that contains your user name and pass). Destination name should be "PureVPN Connection". Check mark "Don't connect now; just set it up so I can connect later". Hit "Next"..
STEP 7:
Enter user name and password as provided in configuration email (This is NOT same as your client area login details).Leave Domain field empty and check mark Remember this password if you do not wish to enter login detail every time. Hit "Create".
STEP 8:
Without clicking "Connect now" hit "Close".
STEP 9:
Click on the computer icon in system tray and you will see the newly created VPN connection. Click on “Connect”.
STEP 10:
You will see this window. Click on “Properties”.
STEP 11:
You will see the internet address you entered earlier. This is just a confirmation, verify it here and then click on "Security" tab.
STEP 12:
Select "Point to Point Tunneling Protocol" as shown.
STEP 13:
Go to "Networking" tab.
STEP 14:
Uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks". Leave others as they are. Click OK and you are done.
STEP 15:
Now click on “Connect”.
STEP 16:
This message will confirm that your VPN connection is establishing.
STEP 17:
Click on computer Icon in system tray. Newly created PureVPN connection can be seen.
STEP 18:
Click on Public Network when this window appears
STEP 19:
Click close. Enjoy the Freedom.
