Must Have Online Privacy Tools in 2019

It’s that time of the year when people from across the globe make resolutions for the New Year. It has never been more critical than now to include online privacy in your resolution and have the following online privacy tools in 2019.

In the wake of cyberattacks taking over the world and disrupting our everyday operations, online privacy tools have become crucial in our efforts to maintain the most prized thing we have – data.

1. Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication is a two-step measure which commonly requires you to enter short codes sent to or generated on your phone along with your regular password. It protects you against unauthorized access if your passwords are compromised.

Two Factor Authentication

You can mark your devices as favorite to avoid going through the process of two-factor authentication and in an event where you don’t have cell service or are locked out.

2. Secure Messaging Applications

Messaging applications have taken the world by storm. From WhatsApp to WeChat, messaging apps offer more options than any other mode of communication.

Additionally, secure messaging apps have become a great alternative to the conventional mode of communication – email. Traditional methods have several innate loopholes which can expose you to intruders. You should use apps that offer encryption along with a VPN service so that your conversations are secure over unsecured public Wi-Fi networks.

3. Use Strong Passwords

Passwords are the entry ticket to your personal information. The stronger the password, the tougher it is to get into an unauthorized platform.

Strong Password

Use passwords that are alphanumeric and contain capital and lowercase letters, jumbled up numbers, punctuations, etc.

4. Password Manager

Password managers make your life easier by organizing all your passwords in one place. It’s no secret that we all have a lot of online accounts and maintaining their passwords individually can become a tiresome process.

A password manager will catalog all your passwords, so if you forget any, the manager will have them all backed up for you. A password manager will require a key to protecting itself. The only password you have to remember is the one that is needed to open your password manager.

5. Establish an HTTPS Connection

HTTPS is an impenetrable shield that bounces back unauthorized access to your data while it is being transmitted from your system to a server.

You’re kinda forgetting to mention that only a trustworthy VPN provider can keep a person secured and private. A non-trustworthy VPN listen in and capture ALL your traffic. Just using any VPN doesn’t make the internet safer.

It needs to be a trustworthy VPN provider such as PureVPN 🙂
