Meet Syed, PureVPN’s Project Manager

PureVPN

In this PureVPN Profile, we’re getting to know Syed, whose day to day responsibilities includes managing and running operations, design, and marketing teams to monitor key performance indicators and metrics across a multitude of marketing functions.

On working for PureVPN

“I do it because I love interacting with people and helping them, removing their blockers so they can reach their goals. I learnt about data, product analytics, KPIs here, and learnt how to manage and grow them. What fascinates me is that when you work and execution creates an impact on overall business and financial objectives. I want to reach a point where I can make big decisions based on numbers and data! That’s my ultimate goal as a Product Manager.”

A day at PureVPN in a pandemic means that Syed begins his day with a ritual of checking Twitter and reddit trends, a cold shower, and then a “very healthy breakfast with my lovely wife.” Work then begins by touching base with the team across email, Skype, and Slack. He then checks a bunch of metric-based tools, such as Power BI, Uptime Robot, and other analytics tools, followed by Assembla and Jira, which we use as a team.

That information helps inform the direction of the rest of the day, so the next stop is check-ins with various teams, getting work done, following up with the team, and then a break in the evenings, cigarettes, and snacks. When things are all wrapped up, he plans an overview and pointers for the next day.

To Syed, culture is everything, and he continues, “I received my offer letter when I became the father of a beautiful girl. Ever since, I have grown here, both financially and professionally. I think it’s a blessing to have such a great place and people. I have my mentors here, and I learn a lot from them. I believe that’s my daughter’s blessings.”

Before Syed joined the PureVPN team, he had a really eclectic background in the arts, working as a former clay artist who made many architectural objects and drawings. He’s also an

After the pandemic, Syed wants to travel to Islamabad and other northern regions, “just natural beauty without the Internet.”

And if he can be an animal, he’d be a horse, because it’s “generous, independent, romantic, and a best friend.”
