3.     Psycho-Pass 3

top 10 must watch anime of summer 2019

Welcome to a futuristic world where technology has evolved to the level where an individual’s potential of turning into a criminal can be measured.

Well, the plot may initially sound more like a copy from the storyboard of Minority Report, but believe us that it isn’t. There’s more to psycho pass than some comatose bodies lying around in a high-tech building.

There’s a more sinister plot and the people behind it.

In the first two seasons, we were introduced to the two main characters of the series Shinya Kogami and Akane Tsunemori. In the previous seasons, we witness the backdrop of the psycho pass world and how the technology is capable of measuring anyone’s emotions or the tendency of turning into a criminal.

Plus, it involved some interesting enlightening facts on the part of the MCs.

Unlike the first season that was well-received by the anime fans, the second season failed to attract much hype. However, season three is going to introduce some new faces who will replace the MCs of the first two seasons.

The show will air on October 25, 2019.

4.     Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld

top 10 must watch anime of summer 2019

SAO is amongst the top-rank anime where the MC is stuck in an MMORPG world.

The story focuses on Kirito and Asuna Yuki, who met and fell in love with each other in a virtual world. In the first season, Kirito saves Asuna from the threats that exist both in the real world as well as the virtual reality world.

In the second season, we see Kirito rejoining the game to save Asuna once again from new threats, all the while gaining new companions along the way. We also see Kirito’s sister joining the virtual reality MMORPG game.

The story ends with a cliffhanger where Kirito fells in the abyss of the dungeon while fighting a new nemesis and going into comatose.

The latest season is the continuation, and it would mostly center on Asuna, where we will get to see her new gears as well as some more developments in an already exciting storyline.

If you are a fan of MMORPG, this is the anime that you definitely shouldn’t miss out on. Watch it on October 13, 2019.

Food Wars tells us the story of a young chef, Soma Yukihira. Although he’s a chef in the making, he has got some exceptional culinary skills. At the start of the first season, Yukihira works at his family dinner, where he polishes his cooking skills to perfection.

It is because of the fantastic skills that he manages to make his way to an elite cooking academy, Totsuki Saryo Culinary Academy. However, things never go easy around our young chef. First, the academy has some amazing student chefs who might be equally or more talented than Yukihira, and he needs to keep his performance up to beat them all at cooking.

Secondly, he also has to defeat the commander-in-chief of the Central Gourmet Organization to curb their restrictions on letting students cook freely. As a result, Yukihira and the group end up challenging them to a cooking battle. Yukihira and the company may have lost their first battle, but things aren’t over yet.

Don’t fret over the title. It may seem long, which is quite anime-like if you ask us, but it is an excellent anime with a fantastic plot.

When the flight of these prodigies crashes, they find themselves transported to a world of magic and beasts. Instead of losing their minds, they stick to their overwhelming demeanor and overcome the challenges of the new world with their talent alone.

Though her request, or more like wish, is granted but not precisely in the manner she wished it would be.

8.     Beastars

top 10 must watch anime of summer 2019

The anime is an adaptation from a manga of the same name. The manga has been well-received by the critics and readers alike. It has even taken home the 2018 Manga Taishō award, after beating eleven other manga nominees.

The anime seems akin to the Hollywood animated movie, Zootopia. However, there’s a twist here. Beastars has a dark theme to it, and it is categorized as a psychological thriller.

The story centers on academia where students are being murdered, and the murderer hasn’t been arrested yet. Just like the main characters of Zootopia, we have a wolfy here as well as a bunny, sheep, and other animal characters.

It seems like an excellent addition to the fall 2019 anime list. The anime will air on October 10, 2019.
