CEO NOTE
We’ve all heard stories of startups and companies starting in a basement. This is where our journey started too.
We’ve all heard stories of startups and companies starting in a basement. This is where our journey started too.
A little over 15 years ago, a handful of us came together to work on a passion project. Fresh out of college and driven to keep up with the fast evolving digital landscape, we had a singular vision – secure access for all. This passion project is what you know today as PureVPN.
We stood at the dawn of the digital revolution and witnessed the digital world slowly crawling its way onto becoming a more restrictive and invasive space. We saw the power of the people move from the streets to the digital space. Security and privacy became more complex – a multi-layered and multi-dimensional challenge for all.
Technology evolved, as did user needs for security and privacy. A lot changed for us too. We relocated to the British Virgin Islands and deployed an always-on no-log audit by independent auditors to focus on user privacy. But today, we’re hitting reset.
We now have a new look, and our family of products has also grown.
We’re creating an ecosystem that enables you to be able to do anything on the internet without any limitations or fear; to not just be yourselves, but be the best versions of yourself.
Our VPN is now supplemented by a password manager, a social media auditor and a file encryption tool. These new products are a result of extensive user feedback over the last year.
We worked with internet users to understand their needs to chart our roadmap forward. What came up was that their needs weren’t just limited to private and secure access; they wanted to keep their digital assets and other vital information secure and away from prying eyes as well.
Moreover, with the pandemic reshaping how we work, socialize and interact with each other, it was necessary to reevaluate our understanding of our customers’ needs. To do this well, we needed to take a more holistic approach. Rather than switching between personal and professional solutions, we recognise their need for a universal platform that can address both sets of needs as the world settles into the new normal.
On the visual front, there were two clear points – hit reset and revitalize our brand based on our past learnings, and create uniformity across the board for all products.
I’m proud to announce that PureVPN now also has a redefined commitment, a continued promise, an unwavering purpose – for lasting impact.
We’re making freedoms accessible through experiences that are secure by default, private by consent and powered by sustainable connections.
Our new brand identity reflects our evolved mission to provide ever evolving protection (aka “squaring”) with each new circle representing another layer of security and privacy, interlocked in a seamless experience providing a private space to users.
The concept of “squaring” is essential to understanding PureVPN’s new visual identity. We are committed to ensuring that our users’ digital data and identity remain secure at all costs. This means taking a more holistic and multi-layered approach instead of offering security as a one-tiered solution. This means adding multiple layers of security for our users till they are 100% secure and enjoy 360-degree privacy.
As we transition into this new phase with a redefined vision, the foundation of our company remains untouched. PureVPN is built on trust. Just as much as our job is to provide our users the privacy, anonymity and security they are entitled to online, it is also our job to protect their data and respect their privacy. To do this, we have worked tirelessly over the years to remain open in our communication and transparent in how we operate.
PureVPN is the only VPN service provider that has an always-on audit policy. We don’t keep any logs, and have had third parties verify that. We also specifically moved our headquarters to the British Virgin Islands because of their no- mandatory data retention laws.
We’ve seen the industry grow from a few small VPNs to one where a major chunk of the industry is now controlled by a handful of groups. We’re proud to be one of the last few independent flag bearers of digital freedom.
It has taken us time to get here but we’ve finally arrived. And we’re proud to be standing on the frontlines of the battle for digital freedom – for you to be you online.
